Want to keep your tile floor looking great for as possible? Or maybe you purchased a home that has what was probably once beautiful tile work, but is no longer in top shape.

That’s where our floor tile and grout restoration and preservation service comes in. Whether you’ve unintentionally mistreated your own tile floors, have flooring that’s beginning to wear from age, or have inherited a floor that needs some TLC, we can help. We use our proprietary line of professional products to clean and restore floor tile and grout to like-new condition. We’re tile and grout experts, which means we never use harsh chemicals or improper cleaning practices or equipment that can damage your tiles and grout. Depending on your needs, we use our Clear Sealer or Color Sealer (guaranteed for one year), or our exclusive Restoration Sealer (guaranteed for 10 years). |
Marble, Granite and Natural Stone Cleaning
Granite, marble, slate, or travertine can create a stunning look in your home. These natural stones are long-lasting and durable, and add a much-sought-after character to your countertops or floors.
While natural stone surfaces can look great to start off, certain care needs to be taken to keep them looking their best. These stone countertops and floors are covered with a special sealant that can be inadvertently removed if someone is careless with their natural stone surface. We’re often called in to help clients after several years of improper care. And while we recommend cleaning, sealing, restoration work, and repair be left to the professionals, we also believe in educating our customers so they can care for their stone surfaces on a daily basis, reducing the need for major work. Natural Stone Dos and Don’ts:
Following the recommendations will result in better looking and longer-lasting surfaces. When you do have a need for a deep cleaning, or more extensive work, The Groutsmith offers professional quality cleaning, restoration, sealing, and repair work on granite, marble, and natural stone floors and countertops. |
Grout Clear or Color Sealing
Caulk is used in kitchens and bathrooms to create a watertight seal around fixtures like a bathtub, sink, or shower. When installed correctly, you may not even notice it’s there.
Over time, caulk can start to wear or break down. Whether this is due to cracking, shrinking, or losing its seal, the caulk is no longer doing an effective job of keeping moisture out of places where it doesn’t belong. This invites mildew and mold to form in places we don’t normally see. The solution is replacing caulk as soon as it starts to show signs of age, discoloration or wear. Caulk, especially when professionally installed, can last for years…but doesn’t last forever. Replacing caulk yourself might seem like it is a simple job, it can be more difficult and messy than you think. Choosing the right kind and color of caulk for the surface and then installing it correctly is a job best left to a professional. Groutsmith offers color-matched caulking services that adhere to our high quality standards. We’ll remove old caulk and professionally install new color-matched caulking to seal joints and seams in showers, bathtubs vanities, sinks, and countertops. Our high-quality siliconized acrylic caulks resist mold and mildew to provide years of protection. |
Loose and Hollow Floor Tile Re-bonding
Tile floors are often chosen because of their durability. Whether your floor is made of ceramic, porcelain, granite, marble, or other natural stone, tile has an attractive look and, with proper care, can last for many years.
Tile floors and the grout that secures them require regular care and cleaning, often with tile-specific cleaners. And, while durable, tile flooring is not a guarantee that they will never need a repair. One of the most common repairs we deal with is tile re-bonding. Re-bonding is the solution for a loose tile. There are several reasons a tile can become loose. It could have been installed incorrectly with the installer not using enough adhesive. Regular traffic can also, over time, break down the adhesive and cause the tile to become loose. At The Groutsmith, tile repair is our specialty. You don’t have to replace your entire floor if there is a simple fix for your loose tiles. Our re-bonding procedure re-secures loose and hollow tiles to the subfloor. We inject our proprietary tile adhesive through holes in the grout to fill gaps and voids between the tile and subfloor, bonding loose tile to the subfloor. When dry, the damaged grout work is matched for color and repaired. |
Shower Repair and Restorations
Your shower is among the most used areas of your home. Not only is it likely to be used daily, often multiple times if you live with a roommate or family, but it is (by nature) subject to water, any contaminants in your water, soaps, and cleaners.
Over time, regular use can have an impact on your shower surface. Just as water can slowly break down natural structures (think of how the Grand Canyon was formed), it can also damage your shower walls. Tiled showers and baths are a popular choice, but require specific care to keep them in top condition. Regular cleaning is a must, however, the use of harsh chemical cleaners can speed up regular wear and tear. When you notice your shower is beginning to look worn, whether the grout is beginning to crack, your caulk is coming loose, or tiles are falling off, it’s time to call a professional. At The Groutsmith, we offer an expert evaluation resulting in a custom recommendation based on your needs. Our goal is to properly repair and restore your bath or shower back to its original condition. Our shower repair and restoration services include cleaning, grout repair, grout sealing, color restoration, color-matched caulking or complete grout removal and replacement. |
Anti-Slip Treatment
Tile is a great flooring option because of its durability. It’s also a great flooring choice specifically for areas prone to moisture, like bathrooms, because of its impermeability. Tile doesn’t absorb moisture, an essential to the rooms in your home that are most likely to see water on the floor.
Because tile doesn’t allow moisture to penetrate the surface, you can be left with an accumulation sitting on top. And any sort of liquid on a smooth, hard surface can be slippery! If you’ve ever taken care walking on a wet surface, or have seen a sign that says “slippery when wet”, you know exactly what we mean. The risk of falling on a hard tiled surface is greatly increased when you add water. That’s why we created Slip-Resist. Slip-Resist is a proprietary Groutsmith product designed to make these naturally slippery tiled areas less slippery by improving the coefficient of friction on tiled areas. It works by creating microscopic pores on the treated surface that create a vacuum or suction effect when wet, thereby reducing the risk of slip and fall injuries. |
